Salesforce unveils AI Cloud blending enterprise solutions with generative AI
IT giant leverages trusted partnerships and first-party innovations in the new product suite

Salesforce, the San Francisco-based cloud-based software company that focuses on customer relationship management, just launched a row of new products, jointly packed under the title AI Cloud.
AI Cloud is a collection of tools aimed at providing AI solutions suitable for enterprise use. It represents Salesforce’s latest endeavor to enhance its product portfolio with artificial intelligence capabilities. This initiative can be seen as a natural extension of the company’s generative AI project launched earlier in March, which seeks to integrate generative AI throughout the entire Salesforce platform.
Adam Caplan, SVP of emerging technology at Salesforce, marked that the focus lies on introducing generative AI in a trusted fashion to the enterprise. He added that the company has been working at full speed to leverage its pre-existing strength in AI.
AI Cloud operates as a platform that hosts and deploys various AI models, with a particular focus on text-generating models. These models are sourced from multiple partners such as Amazon Web Services, Anthropic, Cohere, and OpenAI, and they are hosted on Salesforce’s cloud infrastructure.
In addition to third-party models, Salesforce’s own AI research division provides first-party models, enabling functionalities like code generation and business process automation. Alternatively, customers have the option to bring their own custom-trained models to the platform while retaining control over their data by storing it on their own infrastructure.
The concept is not too dissimilar to Amazon’s recently introduced Bedrock, which offers a range of models trained internally by AWS, as well as pre-trained models from startup partners.
