Google will maintain close surveillance over frequency of employees’ office visits
The IT corporation introduces revised guidelines for hybrid work arrangements

Google is implementing stricter measures for its “hybrid” work model. Starting April 2023, employees restricted to three office days per week will be subject to monitoring through passes. The frequency of visits will be considered in regular performance reviews.
To encourage more office attendance, employees who infrequently visit will receive reminders prompting them to come in for work. Fiona Cicconi, the corporation’s HR director, stated that if workers persistently attend less than three days a week, their HR manager will hold discussions regarding “next steps.”
Highlighting the value of personal interaction, Cicconi emphasised that Google’s collaborative environment played a pivotal role in developing new products.
While Google presently allows certain employees to work fully remotely, Chiconni urged them to reconsider their preferences if a company office is available in their city of residence.
