Thousands of refugees will be employed by international IT companies, paving the way for their integration into the workforce

Amazon, along with other notable companies such as Hilton, Marriott, and Starbucks, has outlined plans to hire a minimum of 5,000 refugees in Europe, including those from Ukraine, within the next three years.

Moreover, through their Welcome Door programme, Amazon intends to employ an additional 5,000 refugees in their US centres by the end of 2024. The corporation has committed to supporting program participants with immigration and legal services, as well as mentoring, training, and other forms of assistance.

In recognition of the strength that employee diversity brings, Amazon has stated their belief in fostering a diverse workforce.

To address the challenges faced by refugees in finding employment, certain technology companies like Indeed, Cisco, Accenture, and Microsoft will initiate an IT training programme specifically tailored for refugees.

Representatives from the European Commission have highlighted that despite having the right to work in Europe, many refugees encounter obstacles in securing employment opportunities.
