In the course of the study, bees had been trained to differentiate between different colours of plants.
They had been provided with sugar syrup in blue flowers, confronted with bitter water in green ones, and encountered glucose in a select few. Following this training, a group of twenty bees had been released into a garden abundant with flowers, which had been treated with distilled water.
The outcomes of the experiment had revealed that bees are capable of identifying “delicious” flowers within an average span of merely 0.6 seconds. The researchers stated that they had unveiled the fundamental mechanisms that steered bee decision-making.
