Attitude to emojis in corporate emails depends on your age
35% of employees under 30 expect a colleague who sends an emoji to be a kind person

A study by Duolingo and Slack found that corporate employees enjoy using emoji in business emails.
More than half of respondents from America, Asia and Europe say that emoji help them express emotions. Almost the same number of respondents use visual elements to speed up corporate communication.
At the same time, it turned out that the attitude to emoji directly depends on age. Young professionals (aged 18 to 29) are sure that emoticons expressing different shades of feelings are necessary and appropriate. Employees aged 45 and over often think that such elements in correspondence indicate a lack of professionalism.
Interestingly, 50% of employees under 30 expect a colleague sending an emoji to be funny, and 35% believe that they are a kind person. But things are not so simple: if the respondent is over 45 years old, in 22% of cases they will think that the emoji is indicative of insincerity or incompetence of the sender.
