Netflix releases fitness streaming content – 30 hours of fitness sessions

Nike will start airing Nike Training Club classes in their effort to join the fitness programming industry starting 30 December

All Netflix subscribers will have access to the Nike Training Club sessions which provide exercises for those with different fitness levels in a number of different languages. The first round will begin on 30 December.

Classes will be Feel-Good Fitness, HIIT & Strength with Tara, Fall in Love with Vinyasa Yoga, Kickstart Fitness with the Basics, and Two Weeks to a Stronger Core.

Once the classes are made available, users of Netflix can access them by searching for Nike. The Nike Training Club app offers a range of options for those with varying degrees of fitness, including strength training, yoga and challenging workouts overseen by Nike’s experienced trainers.

Netflix is trying to extend its reach outside of its core selection of TV shows and series. The company just entered the gaming sector with the launch of Netflix Games. The timing is not a coincidence either, given that many people will soon make working out their New Year’s resolution.

In the last year, Netflix has already made available mindfulness and meditation programmes like Headspace, so this won’t be their first step into the world of health related content. Netflix may decide to include more fitness-related content on its platform in order to compete with competitors like Apple Fitness+ and Peloton.
