Silicon Valley tests a $789,000 electric car

The Aska A5 Electric Flying Car has achieved a significant milestone as the first in the world to gain approval from both the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the US Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) for operation on public roads.

This innovative vehicle starts as a four-wheeled electric car and transforms into a six-engine vertical take-off and landing helicopter (known as an eVTOL) at the push of a button.

Developers highlight that the Aska A5 has undergone over 480 km of successful road tests in Silicon Valley, underscoring its capability to take off from remarkably short runways.

With a range of 400 km and a top speed of 240 km/h, the Aska A5 is priced at $789,000, and the company has already garnered 60 pre-orders, accompanied by $50 million in deposits.

Anticipated to hit the market in 2026 following the acquisition of all necessary certifications, it represents an exciting development in personal transportation.
