The air purifying headphones will cost a little short of $1K

Imagine if your AC and speaker had a lovechild. While you may think that nobody would spend too much time pondering on this scenario, it seems like the engineers at Dyson thought differently.

The company has just released its newest product – the air-purifying headphones titled Dyson Zone air-purifying headphones. They’re not out in the market just yet, the little Frankenstein is set to hit stores later in March, however, we already know a few details about the product.

It is set to launch first in the US market, costing $949 per set. The headset consists of two parts – gigantic headphones that resemble two spheres of a disco ball framing your head and a detachable air-purifying visor that distantly resembles a transformers-themed mouth covering device.

However, it’s not just a laughing stock. The headset has some promising technical abilities. According to the latest announcement made by the company, the Dyson Zone supports Bluetooth 5.0 and features a 3.5mm audio jack and USB-C port for charging.

The headphones will be wireless and will be able to fully charge in three hours. Moreover, the headset is equipped with 11 microphones, eight of which are used by the device’s advanced noise canceling (ANC) system. They will also be able to monitor the surrounding environment, so as to cancel out any of the surrounding noises (including the ones coming from the purifier).

With respect to the air purifier, the company claims that it will be able to capture up to 99 percent of the particle pollution (as small as 0.1 microns), and carbon filters target gasses associated with city pollution, such as nitrogen dioxide and sulfur dioxide. Thus far we know that the filter will be usable for up to 12 months.
