Foreign companies have become increasingly interested in Thailand
The number of Thailand-based foreign companies with an authorised capital of at least $3 billion has increased
In 2022, 480 new foreign companies with an authorised capital of at least $3 billion were registered in Thailand (according to data for the first 10 months).
According to Jittakorn Wongkhetkorn, deputy general manager of the Business Development Authority, the number of companies allowed to do business in the country increased by 8% compared to the same period last year. At the same time, the authorised capital of foreign companies increased by 72%.
Jittakorn noted that most companies were opened by Japanese businessmen. The top 3 also included entrepreneurs from Hong Kong and Singapore. Up to 72,000 new companies are expected to be registered in Thailand by the end of this year.
