Developer of the Seed game will create a universe where players will colonise an alien planet

In order to create Seed, a user-built online universe, Klang Games has raised $41 million in funding. Isabelle Henriques, a seasoned executive from Electronic Arts, was welcomed by the company as co-CEO.

Berlin-based Klang Games is raising the bar for massively multiplayer online (MMO) games. Seed will be an expansive, persistent environment where players may shape their futures and interact with AI-driven virtual people.

The round was co-led by Animoca Brands and Kingsway Capital, with participation from Roosh Ventures, AngelHub, Anthos, Novator, Supercell, and New Life Ventures. Almost $80 million has now been raised for Klang Games.

The fresh round of investment will be applied to Klang Games’ continued quick expansion in order to hasten the creation of Seed.

The company plans to almost quadruple its current workforce this year, from 70 to 150. It seeks to enhance Seed’s technical infrastructure and scalable back-end while also fostering a collaborative and motivating work atmosphere in the centre of Berlin.
