Python’s young contender made its debut in the list of top 20 programming languages
The most popular programming languages have been identified by TIOBE experts

The compilers of the TIOBE index, responsible for assessing programming language popularity, have unveiled their latest rankings. Python has secured the top spot once again, marking the fourth time in the past six years that it has claimed this position.
Analysts attribute Python’s enduring popularity to the flourishing fields of artificial intelligence and data science. However, Python’s leadership could be at risk if the enthusiasm surrounding tools like ChatGPT wanes.
In the TIOBE ranking, C and C++ hold second and third places respectively, with Java in fourth place, and C# in fifth place. Notably, the experts have highlighted the inclusion of Julia, a language making its debut in the TIOBE top 20. Given that Julia was first released in 2012, it is considered relatively young.
According to experts, Julia outperforms Python in terms of speed, offers better suitability for developing extensive systems than R, and is more cost-effective than MATLAB. However, mastering Julia demands a higher level of expertise compared to the aforementioned languages.
Previously, analysts from the research firm Redmonk identified the five most promising yet youthful programming languages, which include Dart, Kotlin, Go, TypeScript, and Swift.
