Scientists created an algorithm for diabetes diagnosis using voice analysis
Biotech company Klick Lab unveils a new diagnostic approach for type II diabetes
Biotechnology company Klick Lab has unveiled an algorithm capable of identifying type 2 diabetes through voice analysis.
In a study involving 267 participants, 75 of whom had type II diabetes, subjects utilised a specialised application to record a designated phrase on a voice recorder up to six times daily for two weeks.
The recordings, lasting up to 10 seconds, revealed distinct tone and intensity differences in the voices of patients with diabetes, discernible only with the aid of artificial intelligence.
Jaycee Kaufman, a research scientist at Klick Labs, notes that the technology could significantly simplify diagnostics compared to current time-consuming and costly methods.
Researchers highlight that their development demonstrated an accuracy of 89% in identifying type II diabetes in women and 86% in men.
