Snapchat announced plans to make its AI chatbot available to all users

The My AI paid feature of Snapchat will be open to the general public

Snapchat, the US multimedia instant messaging app, made an announcement that it plans to make its AI chatbot available to all of the app’s users around the world. Previously, launched in February, the feature was available only to Snapchat’s paid subscribers.

Snapchat’s chatbot is powered by OpenAI’s chatGPT technology. The company reveals that approximately 2 million daily messages are sent using the chatbot. In order to make the chatbot more appealing to users, Snachat has endowed it with new features, like the ability to add My AI to group chats, get recommendations for places on Snap Map and Lenses, and share Snaps with My AI and receive chat replies.

Snapchat’s chatbot is called My AI and it is planned that in the near future it will be able to respond with unique “generative” Snaps back, instead of just chat replies.

My AI is Snapchat’s response to the growing user demand for ChatGPT-like experiences. Snapchat has been trying to integrate the chatbot into its core functionality offer, aiming to expand the AI-assistant’s scope to suggest birthday gift ideas, plan a trip, write a poem, and many other things.
