Social network is being sued by former cleaners on grounds of unfair dismissals
The plaintiffs claim that the company violated the Building Maintenance Worker Protection Act

The former cleaners of Twitter’s New York office have filed a lawsuit against the company and its owner, Elon Musk, seeking a payment of $100,000.
The plaintiffs argue that Twitter violated the Displaced Building Service Workers Protection Act, which mandates that the social network must retain the cleaners’ employment for 90 days after a change in ownership, provided their performance met the employer’s standards.
However, the employer unilaterally terminated the cleaners’ contracts just 53 days after Musk acquired the company. Some of these individuals had been working in the New York office since 2015.
The ex-employees are now facing significant hardships, including the loss of medical benefits, as they were abruptly laid off on Christmas Eve.
