Tether, the issuer of the world’s most popular stablecoin USDT, has recently entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the government of Georgia. The primary objective of this agreement is to foster an enabling ecosystem for decentralised solutions, blockchain startups, and digital education. Notably, an exclusive educational program will be launched at the University of Business and Technology in Tbilisi.
Furthermore, Tether plans to establish a dedicated fund aimed at supporting local startups and offering grants for services based on blockchain technology.
Irakli Nadareishvili, the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, expressed confidence that this collaboration will propel the country to the forefront of the blockchain industry.
In the past, it was reported that Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, had set up a blockchain hub in Georgia. According to company representatives, they acknowledged the vast potential within Georgia and observed a rising interest in the country from both the crypto community and the business sector.
