Twitch streamers are boycotting the platform since they can’t capitalise on ads
The video platform will prohibit streamers from incorporating ads into their content

Twitch, the video platform, has implemented new regulations regarding advertisements during broadcasts. It was stated that streamers are now prohibited from directly incorporating video ads, banners, or audio promos into their content.
Additionally, the platform has imposed a restriction on the amount of screen space that advertising logos can occupy, limiting it to 3%. Furthermore, it was announced that certain categories of goods and services, such as those associated with “inciting hatred,” “political content,” medicine, gambling, tobacco products, cannabinoids, and select financial products, can no longer be promoted on the platform.
Following the announcement of these updates, streamers voiced their criticism of Twitch and called for a boycott of the platform. A representative from OTK, one of the largest streamer associations, expressed concern, stating that it posed a direct threat to their business and personnel. They further mentioned that all the hard work they had dedicated to the organisation could be rendered futile.
Echoing this sentiment, another co-founder of OTK remarked that they believed it to be a logical step and suggested that streamers should contemplate boycotting Twitch or transitioning to other platforms.
