Twitter is planning to release inactive usernames to the public
Social network to delete inactive user accounts

Twitter will soon begin deleting inactive accounts that bloggers have not used for an extended period. Elon Musk, the owner of the company, stated that the usernames of these dormant accounts will become available to others.
The specifics regarding the duration of user inactivity and the potential for account recovery were not mentioned by Musk. However, he did specify that the accounts being referred to were those that had remained inactive for “several years.” Musk also cautioned that users might experience a decline in their follower count as a result of these new regulations.
Deleted accounts’ content will not vanish completely, as Twitter assures that posts will be archived. It is currently advised to log in to the platform at least once a month.
In December of the previous year, Musk had already announced plans to “free up” around 1.5 billion account usernames.
