When it comes to financial concerns, who do zoomers truly rely on for guidance?

The age group of 18 to 26 leans toward discussing financial matters with their parents

Specialists from the analytical company Morning Brew and Generation Lab conducted a survey on the financial habits of 978 American college students. The findings revealed that 64% of zoomers (individuals aged 18 to 26) seek financial advice from their parents or other family members rather than relying on bloggers or accountants. While a third of students consider financial advisors their primary mentors, only 1% are inclined to heed advice from celebrities.

When it comes to trusted entrepreneurial voices, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates holds the top position, followed by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, and Tesla CEO Elon Musk securing the third spot.

Previously, Fidelity Investments, the largest American financial services company, highlighted that female zoomers have emerged as the most active investors. The financial acumen of the 18 to 26 age group is further emphasised by their active saving and investment practices in financial assets through brokerage accounts, attributed to the ongoing fintech boom.
